As a Senior Consultant on the Client Analytics team at Decision Point you will use healthcare data to tell stories that drive our clients to meaningful action. This role will be working to support multiple accounts and is responsible for working closely across functional teams to meet the population health, care management, provider management, and consumer experience needs of our clients, current and prospective. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing data and communicating resulting insights and recommendations to our health insurance and provider organization clients.

There are three main areas of focus. The first is to investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses, the results of which you will leverage to advise clients in the construction of customized marketing campaigns and to evaluate the performance of those campaigns. The second is to work with the data engineering and data science team to prepare data for predictive modeling and analysis. The third is to assist the product team in the buildout of data analytics and reporting capabilities for our product offering.

The Position

  • Serve as a healthcare subject matter expert internally and as a consultant to our clients
  • Investigate business problems ranging from population health management to healthcare consumer experience
  • Design, develop, and implement analyses that convert large datasets and complex concepts into usable information and insights
  • Lead the development of visually effective reports, dashboards, and presentations for clients
  • Contribute to the company’s ability to grow by developing scalable, semi-automated analytic processes
  • Deliver recommendations to clients in an engaging way to drive clients to meaningful and decisive action
  • Provide subject matter expertise to account managers and to the client management process
  • Independently and with the client analytics team, manage client data from ingestion to analytic deliverables
  • Work with the client analytics team on client specific data tasks involving utilization and health care cost data as well as data from non-traditional, innovative sources
  • Address client specific data issues and work with data engineering team to resolve
  • Understand data storage and data sharing methods
  • Ensure team maintains high standards of data management
  • Ensure quality control procedures and documentation management are followed

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare, health insurance, and/or care management operations, consulting or similar experience preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience performing analytics role at a health plan, consulting firm, or healthcare provider system
  • Strong SQL programming skills (experience with python a plus)
  • Strong understanding of relational data, ETL practices, and OLAP databases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (preferably Tableau)
  • Understanding of statistical methods for evaluation (knowledge of machine learning a plus)
  • Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate with technical and business colleagues and clients to make complex ideas understood
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
